The best way to comprehend the size of the universe is to scale it down to dimensions we can comprehend. The problem is, no one scale suits all familiar human dimensions. If we scale the smallest familiar thing to the smallest familiar size, eg. the size of the moon to 1 mm in diameter, the universe is still huge at 253 trillion km (27 light years) across.

If we scale the universe down to a size we can imagine, eg. one km across, our sun is then smaller than the size of an atom. Therefore, we need a number of scales which allow a mental picture to form in our minds. This poster lists 26 scales from Moon = 1 mm to Average Distance Between Galaxies = 1 mm. This information, simplified and presented in table format allows easy access to identify and comprehend each piece of the jigsaw bit by bit.

The Poster can be purchased as a wall poster of various sizes and is also available as a free download which can be viewed on a smart phone or computer screen. Although very detailed, each table can be zoomed to fit the screen size.
